Xiaomi announces Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 plus with 18:9 bezel less display

Finally, smartphone giant company Xiaomi has officially announced Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 plus in China. Both the devices have 18:9 screen to body ratio bezel fewer HD plus displays with massive battery power. The new devices are the successors of Redmi 4 and Redmi note 4 (gained rich popularity in India).


Both the new devices have bezel fewer styles and round corner with tiny bezels on the top of the device having a proximity sensor and front camera. At the back of the device’s fingerprint sensor is mounted as it is the traditional style of Xiaomi.

 

Xiaomi Redmi 5 has 5.7-inch HD+ plus display with the Chipset Snapdragon 450 processor, Octa-core CPU with clock speed at 1.8 GHz. The devices will be available in two variants 2GB with 16 GB storage and 3GB with 32 GB storage having microSD card slot expandable up to 128 GB.



Xiaomi Redmi 5 will have a 12-megapixel camera on the back and 5-megapixel selfie shooter in front, with two LED flashlights one is for the front camera and another one is for the rare camera. The device is featuring 3300 mAh powerful battery.

The phone comes with 7.1.2 Nougat android version with MIUI 9 out of the box. Xiaomi Redmi 5 will available in Black, Blue, Gold pink colors with the price tag $120 and $135 USD.


Qualcomm announces the Snapdragon 845 processor chip

Qualcomm officially introduces next version of the heart of devices  Snapdragon 845 processor during annual Technology summit 2017 in Hawaii. The new Snapdragon chip is designed to power flagship smartphones in the next year 2018.

New Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will be the successor of the Snapdragon 835. Snapdragon 845 will cover up the smartphones in next year as well as it is expected in Windows 10 laptops based on ARM architecture.


The chip will have latest X20 LTE modem to support Gigabyte LTE speeds with better power efficiency and improved image processing. Qualcomm is hosting its annual conference this week and it is expected full details about new chip will be announced at this meet.

According to the reports, Xiaomi M7 could be the first flagship device to have Snapdragon 845. It is also rumored Samsung S9 could have Snapdragon 845.

Mobile data traffic in India will grow 11 times by 2023: Ericsson

India is quickly adopting new technologies and moving towards digitalization. Total mobile data traffic is growing day by day of India and according to Ericsson Mobility Report, it will grow 11 times by 2023.

The monthly mobile data usage will increase to 18GB from 3.9GB which is 5 times approx in 2023. By the end of third quarter of 2017, there are 1.185 billion registered smartphones in India.

We expect LTE to be most dominant wireless technology in India by 2023,” said Nitin Bansal managing director of Ericsson India.

LTE technology is becoming very active in India with 17% of subscribers are using this. According to Ericsson Mobility Report, this number will be increased to 60% across India in 2013.

The company is planning to deploy its 5G project in 2019. Reports revealed 5G technology will cover 20% of the world with 1 billion subscribers by 2023.
